V-OLET

Esta página aún no está disponible en tu idioma.

V-OLET (브이올렛주) is a South Korean prescription deoxycholic-acid injection developed and marketed by Daewoong Pharmaceutical for improvement of moderate to severe submental-fat prominence in adults. Its Korean authorization does not make V-OLET a globally approved body-contouring injection or a regional name for Kybella.

FieldV-OLET
Korean product name브이올렛주
Active ingredientDeoxycholic acid 20 mg/2 mL, equivalent to 10 mg/mL
PresentationClear, colorless solution in a clear vial
Korean statusPrescription drug; authorized in 2021
Korean indicationImprovement of moderate to severe protruding or excessive submental fat in adults
CompanyDaewoong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.
Product boundaryA product-specific Korean formulation and label, not a generic synonym for deoxycholic-acid injection

Daewoong’s current product information supplies the composition, presentation, indication, warnings, and company context (Daewoong V-OLET product information 🔗). South Korea’s 2021 drug-approval report separately records V-OLET as a domestically manufactured product authorized to improve submental fat (2021 drug-approval report 🔗).

Daewoong lists 20 mg of deoxycholic acid in 2 mL and describes a colorless, transparent injectable solution supplied in a clear vial. The public product page does not provide a complete excipient list in the reviewed summary.

That missing field should remain visible. Kybella’s excipients should not be copied into V-OLET merely because both products contain deoxycholic acid at 10 mg/mL. Product identity also includes:

  • excipients and pH
  • container and package configuration
  • manufacturing controls
  • approved labeling
  • clinical evidence submitted for the product
  • local pharmacovigilance and commercial roles

V-OLET is neither established as a phosphatidylcholine formulation nor interchangeable with PPC/deoxycholate mixtures sold under other names.

The 2021 drug-approval report records 브이올렛주(데옥시콜산) as a manufactured product of Daewoong Pharmaceutical, authorized on August 6, 2021 in a new-efficacy category. The stated objective is improvement of moderate to severe submental fat in adults (2021 drug-approval report 🔗). Daewoong’s current product page more fully describes the indication as improvement of moderate to severe protruding or excessive submental fat in adults (Daewoong product information 🔗).

This is a localized contour indication, not a general obesity or weight-loss indication. It does not establish approved use for:

  • jowls or lower-face fat outside the labeled submental area
  • abdomen, arms, thighs, or back
  • visceral fat
  • weight reduction
  • treatment of a nonfat cause of submental fullness

Daewoong states that V-OLET was evaluated in a Korean phase 3 program. Public company and conference materials can help identify that development context, but a company summary does not replace the full clinical report or the approved product information.

When interpreting evidence, keep visible:

  • the V-OLET formulation used in the study
  • the Korean adult population
  • baseline submental-fat severity
  • the assessor and patient outcome measures
  • follow-up duration
  • treatment-related local reactions
  • whether a claim comes from the regulator-facing label, a peer-reviewed paper, or company material

Evidence for V-OLET should not be used to validate another 10 mg/mL deoxycholic-acid injection, and evidence for Kybella should not be represented as if it were a V-OLET trial.

Development and commercialization contextDaewoong describes V-OLET as its product and lists it in its current prescription portfolio
Separate physical manufacturerNot distinguished from the product company in the reviewed public sources
Overseas approval holder or distributorMarket-specific; not inferred from the Korean record

The 2021 approval report classifies V-OLET as a domestic manufactured product and names Daewoong as the company. That supports a Korean product-company role, but it is not evidence that Daewoong holds every overseas authorization or performs every physical manufacturing step.

Daewoong’s product information warns about marginal mandibular nerve injury, risk near salivary glands, thyroid, vessels, lymph nodes, and muscle, and clinically important administration-site reactions. The product is contraindicated in the presence of infection at the treatment site; the full current Korean precautions should be consulted directly (Daewoong product information 🔗).

These warnings reflect the cytolytic product and anatomy. They are not merely minor “downtime” effects. Assessment of contour, skin laxity, prior procedures, neurologic anatomy, swallowing history, bleeding risk, and nonfat causes of fullness belongs before treatment planning.

This page does not reproduce a step-by-step administration protocol. Product labeling, anatomy training, sterile practice, and complication readiness cannot be replaced by an index summary.

  • Fat-Reduction Injectables places V-OLET alongside regional DCA drugs and products with different formulation or authorization status.
